Type Bowser Jr. minigame
Time limit 30 seconds

Crossfire Caverns is a Bowser Jr. minigame in Mario Party 9.

Introduction

The second player fires a cannonball at Bowser Jr., who laughs as he dodges it. The camera zooms out to show the first player, then the screen splits in half.

Gameplay

The players must try to hit Bowser Jr. with their cannonballs three times. Between the tracks, there are rocks, which can be destroyed with cannonballs. If Bowser Jr. ever gets too far off a player's screen, an arrow points in his direction. If a cannonball hits Bowser Jr., he loses a heart and is temporarily stunned. However, a cannonball that goes all the way across the field could hit the other player, stunning them temporarily. If the players do not hit Bowser Jr. three times in 30 seconds, Bowser Jr. is victorious.

Ending

If the players are successful, Bowser Jr.'s minecart will wobble slightly before it falls off the track. If the players are unsuccessful, Bowser Jr. will jump happily in his cart and laugh.
