World 2-1 is the first desert world in New Super Mario Bros. The enemies are only pokeys and 1 spiny next to the second pokey. The first pokey seven segments (including head), and can be jumped over by the first set of ? blocks. The second can be jumped over by a 4 block high face block (I don't know officail name). The third is in a ditch and also guards the first star coin. Number 4 has a lift left of it where you can get over its 8 segments. There are then two pokeys on lifts going down.
After them there is another pokey on a lift going up above quicksand, this guards the second star coin. Next there is a 9 segment pokey (largest one in the level) that once jumped over you get the halfway flag. After that all the pokeys are on platforms and lifts. There is a mini pipe area for Mini Mario that has a coin maze with a 8-bit Mario and Luigi in the background. Then there is one more pokey and then a pipe leading to the flagpole (and one pokey).
