Stone Chomps are a variety of Chomps. They guard artifacts within the temple and attack Mario when he takes an artifact. They suprise him by falling off the ceiling or Jumping out of a wall design. It is said that they are not actual Chain Chomps, but magically animated rocks that are built to honor Chain Chomps.
