Super Jump Punch
Mario performing his Super Jump Punch on Ness.

The Super Jump Punch is a jumping move Mario, Luigi, and Dr. Mario can perform in the Super Smash Bros. series. It was executed by pressing B while holding the control stick upwards at the same. When Luigi was performing it, he was jumping forward like Mario in the original SSB, but he jumped straight up in Melee. He could recover using the Green Missile attack. When either of the Marios perform the attack, coins would fly out of the enemy, and the foe would receive about 10 % damage. Dr. Mario's version of the attack is the exact same as Mario's, only more powerful. When Luigi performs it, only one coin flies out of the enemy. But, if done correctly, the enemy would be cloaked in fire and would receive up to 25 % damage. However, Luigi must be positioned right in front of his enemy for this Super Jump Punch to work, otherwise it results in 1 % damage. The move appears the same in the third Super Smash Bros. game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Mario's stays the exact same from the previous installments. Luigi's Super Jump Punch, however, changes. Though more powerful then Mario's, he lands on his head when he hits ground. This leaves Luigi defenseless and can be hit by a nearby player. If used correctly, it can be a Meteor Smash
