In the Mario franchise, Professor Elvin Gadd has created a number of inventions. One of his projects is the Poltergust, a type of vacuum specifically designed to suck up ghosts. E. Gadd has created five different versions of the Poltergust. They are listed as follows:
- Poltergust 3000 - The first version of the Poltergust ever created. It appears in Luigi's Mansion.
- Super Poltergust 3001 - The second version of the Poltergust. It appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
- Poltergust 4000 - A version of the Poltergust that is both a kart and a vacuum. It debuts in Mario Kart DS and reappears in Mario Kart Tour.
- Poltergust 5000 - An upgraded version of the Poltergust that appears in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
- Poltergust G-00 - The newest version of the Poltergust that appears in Luigi's Mansion 3. It was featured in Simon and Richter Belmont's reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and is used as a part of Luigi's grab, throws, and Final Smash.
- Poltergust G-00 (kart) - A kart which resembles the model from Luigi's Mansion 3 that was added in the 2.0 update of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.
