Template:Minigame-infobox Sneak 'n' Snore is a 4-Player minigame found in Mario Party 2 and Mario Party Superstars.
Gameplay
Based on Red Light, Green Light, the minigame involves players wearing barrels and trying to sneak past a sleeping Chain Chomp in order to escape from a dungeon. They can escape only by traveling to one end of the room, pressing their button, then escaping from the now-open door on the other side. When the Chain Chomp awakes, which it does frequently, it eliminates any exposed player from the game by dumping them into a Warp Pipe. If the player is hidden in a barrel, the Chain Chomp does not grab them. The player who presses the button and reaches the opened door first wins. If the Chain Chomp grabs all the players or time runs out, the minigame ends in a draw.
In Mario Party 2, the barrels have the colors and symbols relevant to the character, such as Mario's hat for Mario and an egg for Yoshi, while in Mario Party Superstars, the barrels have a star symbol and are colored in the standard red, blue, green, and yellow (for Players 1 to 4, respectively).[1]
In Mario Party 2, the game ends immediately when one player returns to the opened door. The camera turns to that character, who does their winning animation. In Mario Party Superstars, the game does not end until the placements have been determined: Players who are caught by the Chain Chomp automatically receive last place, while players who successfully escape receive rankings based on when they escape, and they immediately run out the door after they escape. The winner (if any) is still credited, but they are not seen onscreen in this game.
