The Beam Sword is an item seen in the game Super Smash Bros. Melee. Beam Swords are similar to the lightsabers seen in the Star Wars franchise. Beam Swords have a purple blade, and are found inside crates or capsules.
Originally, the Beam Sword was called "lightsaber" and the sound effects were taken from the Star Wars films. Due to copyright problems, the item was renamed "Beam Sword" and the sound effects were changed.
