Template:Minigame-infobox Scaldin' Cauldron is a Bowser minigame found in Mario Party 5.

Introduction

This minigame, like all other Bowser minigames in Mario Party 5, takes place in some sort of purple mountain or keep shaped like Bowser's head. The camera zooms to the eye, in which the four players are seen running from Bowser. The players run through a passage and end in a locked room with urns and vases, in which they find three different spiked cauldrons. The cauldrons are red, green, and gray, respectively, and are colored after the buttons they represent.

Gameplay

Scaldin' Cauldron minigame in the game Mario Party 5.
Bowser burning a cauldron with Luigi inside

Players must hide in one of the cauldrons to avoid being burned by Bowser. The cauldrons are labeled B Button, A Button, and X Button from left to right. Players are given five seconds to select a cauldron. If any player fails to enter a cauldron within that time, they will automatically jump into a cauldron. Once Bowser steps in, he will breathe fire on two random cauldrons and leave one safe, although if all four players pick the same cauldron and it is the first one Bowser burns, the minigame immediately ends. Sometimes, Bowser may fake out by breathing no flame or a little flame, sometimes followed by a strong flame. Players that avoid being burned win.
