Koops is Mario's second party member in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
Koops comes up to Mario as he and Goombella are about to go to Schwonk Fortress, but he runs away. When they return and head for Hooktail Castle, Koops runs after them and begs to go with them. He wants to get revenge on Hooktail for killing his father, and to stop people calling him a coward. His girlfriend, Koopie Koo, is currently waiting for him to return home after he joins Mario's team. Outside of battle, he possesses the same abilities Kooper has in Paper Mario.
He returns home, brave and strong, and runs for mayor at the very end of the adventure.
