Template:Minigame-infobox Chump Rope is a 1-vs.-3 minigame in Mario Party 8. Its name is a pun on "jump rope."
Introduction
The solo player turns a rope with a Shy Guy, and three Goombas jump the rope. The Goombas leave, and they are replaced by the trio one by one. The rope stops moving and the game begins.
Gameplay
The solo player must swing the rope to topple the trio, who must jump the rope until the timer runs out. If the rope touches a team player, they will be eliminated. The solo player wins if they topple all three team players. The team players win if at least one of them remains for 15 seconds.
Ending
If the solo player wins, they perform their victory pose, while behind them the team players are jumping a rope controlled by two Shy Guys, trying to avoid being tripped. If the team players win, it is the opposite; they perform their victory poses while the solo player jumps the rope instead.
