Fear is a status ailment found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. If a party member has been struck with fear, he or she will begin to shiver. When afraid, a party member's attack and defense will be cut in half, meaning that the party member does less damage to enemies but receives more damage from enemies.
