This odd species was also seen in [[New Super Mario Bros.]] and was usually found [[Ghost House]]s. They were also a common enemy in world 8-1. By jumping on the Pumpkin Head, the head cracks open and the creature would then run at double the speed. By ground-pounding the creature, it automatically disappears. By throwing a [[fireball]] at it, it dies.
A similiar species called [[Splunkin]]s was seen in [[New Super Mario Bros.]] and was usually found in [[Ghost House]]s.

A Strange Pumkin Headed Creature in Super Mario Galaxy.

Pumpkin Head is the conjectural name of an enemy from Super Mario Galaxy. They are found near a haunted house level and resemble Splunkins, but they are actually Goombas wearing jack o' lanterns. They are found mainly in the Ghostly Galaxy.

They are defeated the same away as a Goomba except Mario must first break the Jack o'Lantern before Star Spinning on the Goomba and then kicking him.

The species is probably a reference to Super Mario World. In that game, if you finish Star Road, the Goombas will then wear pumpkin masks as these do.

A similiar species called Splunkins was seen in New Super Mario Bros. and was usually found in Ghost Houses. Template:Goomba
