Template:Minigame-infobox Chump Rope is a 1-vs.-3 minigame in Mario Party 8. Its name is a pun on "jump rope."
Introduction
The solo player turns a rope with a Shy Guy, and three Goombas jump the rope. The Goombas leave, and they are replaced by the trio one by one. The rope stops moving and the game begins.
Gameplay
The solo player must swing the rope to topple the trio within the time limit of fifteen seconds. The trio must jump until the timer runs out.
Ending
If the solo player wins, they perform their victory pose, while behind them the three players are jumping a rope controlled by two Shy Guys, trying to avoid being tripped. If the trio wins, it is the opposite; they perform their victory poses while the solo player jumps the rope instead.
