♪ Blocks help Mario and Luigi achieve extremely [[Jump|High Jumps. These blocks rarely hold items. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3.

There is a special variety of Red ♪ Blocks that catapulted Mario and Luigi to Coin Heaven, where many coins and occasionally a 1-up Mushroom could be found.

Other Appearances

In Mario Kart 64 you can find these if you you run along the wall, in Wario Stadium and maybe other courses. Touching these will bounce you back only a short distance and can be considered a glitch.

The ♪ Block were in a Mini-game where you had jump under the most ♪ Blocks for Mario Party 6

These blocks also appeared in Mario Superstar Baseball in the Peach's Castle field. If a baseball bounces on top of it, the batter may score a homerun!
