Item ticket
Please read my summary I left on the history page. This is something you should always check if you've noticed something keeps being reverted back rather than reversing it back again. Unlike the other items, it's never been written in lowercase in a description or anything similar (so we don't know if it's lowercase like "star ticket" or uppercase like "Jump Boost"), so we go with how it's only been formatted in-game, as a capitalised title. Never mind, it's in the Standard Challenges 1-1, ignore what I said. Mario JC 02:42, October 26, 2019 (EDT)
File redirects
After moving a file, make sure the old name is clear of all articles still linking to that name and is marked for deletion with {{delete}}. (Moving a file twice without fixing the links leaves a broken image.) Mario JC 06:53, November 7, 2019 (EST)
Also, please don't convert jpgs to pngs and apply transparent backgrounds to them (see MarioWiki:Image use policy). Mario JC 07:12, November 7, 2019 (EST)
Is there a way to remove white backgrounds from jpgs without breaking the policy? Tomoto17 (talk) 07:33, November 7, 2019 (EST)
- If official transparent artwork comes along, then they can be replaced; otherwise, no, they mustn't be modified that way. Mario JC 07:36, November 7, 2019 (EST)
You've been told this before, but please mark your redirects with {{delete}} after moving a file. If you need help, see my guide. Furthermore, make sure that you fix all of the places the old file names were with the new ones. Trig - 08:08, March 13, 2020 (EDT)
- You still are not doing this. Please check "What links here" when viewing the redirect (link is in the sidebar to the left) and fix all' mainspace links to direct to the new file name. 12:12, March 14, 2020 (EDT)
MKT Badges
I've noticed that you and a few other users have uploaded badges for Mario Kart Tour, including ones that haven't been released yet. Where on the official site are these badges located, as I couldn't find them, even after going to different search engines. LuigiMaster123 14:56, December 4, 2019 (EST)
- If you open an image from the website in a new tab, you can change the number in the search bar and try any possibility. Tomoto17 (talk) 15:02, December 4, 2019 (EST)
- The only badges I see on the website are the ones in the All-Cup Ranking section. I can't find a list on the site that has them in numerical order like on the List of badges in Mario Kart Tour. LuigiMaster123 15:15, December 4, 2019 (EST)
- All I get from that is this long link in the search bar: https://website-images-cdn-mariokarttour.akamaized.net/assets/global-ranking/images/7/wappens/Cpb00002.png Does this work differently on different computers or am I just dumb? What part is the "name?" LuigiMaster123 15:45, December 4, 2019 (EST)
- The name is Cpb00002.png, if you want to see if badge number 156 exists, for example, you change 00002 into 00156. Also, the number between "images" and "wappens" represents (in general) the tour the badge is used in. With 7 you can find badges from the Winter tour and with 8 for the London tour. Source?
Where did you find File:NSMBW Morton Artwork.png? Trig - 08:12, March 13, 2020 (EDT)
- I found it inside a big map with Mario Kart Tour sprites that someone shared with me via Discord. (I copy-pasted the image description from the jpg version and therefore it has the wrong licensing message, I have fixed that now.) Tomoto17 (talk) 10:01, March 13, 2020 (EDT)
- Did you edit the image at all? It looks though it is ab-original in its transparency. Trig - 10:25, March 13, 2020 (EDT)
- I combined the inner part of the jpg image with an enlarged border of the sprite. I noticed that transparent images of Morton with lower resolutions than the jpg version are deleted in the past.Tomoto17 (talk) 10:43, March 13, 2020 (EDT)
- OK, while I (we) appreciate it, we do not allow edited photographs to be used on the wiki. It is okay to have whitespaced images if no official alternative is available. Trig - 10:52, March 13, 2020 (EDT)
