The Brute is the main non-standard vehicle used by Wario in Mario Kart DS. The kart is a checker-boarded black jalopy, resembling a 1950s or 1960s American two-door sedan, most closely resembling a third-generation Cadillac de Ville.
It has great speed, average acceleration, weight, handling and drift, and low items. The Royale, Standard DK, B Dasher, Standard WL, Streamliner and Zipper match the Brute in weight. It is one of the fastest karts in the game. It also shares its handling with the B Dasher, Dragonfly, Light Dancer, Light Tripper, Standard PC, Standard WR and Zipper, and its drifting with the Banisher, Dragonfly, Dry Bomber, Standard DB and Standard WR. The Brute bears a resemblance to the Wario Car from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, only black. Wario's artwork in the kart is the same as his Mario Kart: Double Dash!! artwork, though without Waluigi in the back. It is the lightest kart within the heavyweight class.
When the player is given the option to choose from seven karts, Bowser and Waluigi can use this kart. For anyone to use the kart, the player must get all gold trophies in 150cc Mirror Mode.
