- Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 (pictured) was the last installment of the Mario Kart series to use the series' original logo font in the game's title.
- In Super Mario Bros. 3, in Water Land, the island with the castle on it is shaped like Japan, and the castle itself is located right where the Nintendo of Japan Headquarters in Kyoto is in the real world.
- In some games, such as Mario Strikers Charged, Bowser's skeleton becomes visible when he gets shocked. However, it looks very little like Dry Bowser in these circumstances.
- The Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball play the coin sound effect from Super Mario Bros. for each scoring runner.
