''Super Mario All-Stars'' if the first game released of the three, the ''+ Super Mario World'' has ''Super Mario World'' and covers any changes made to the original game, and ''Limited Edition'' has changes as well as several promotional material specific to that game. It would just be a big mess if we tried to merge any of them.

Saving lives

Having actually played the original All-Stars just today, I would like to point out that the original DOES in fact save the number of lives the player has left. This is not a new feature added to the game. (Plus, this isn't truly a "port" of the SNES game. It's an emulated ROM.)

==Brick glitch== As an emulated ROM, they appear to have altered nothing. An extension of this is the brick physics glitch in Mario 1 and Lost Levels is still present.

Japanese name

Could anyone add the original Japanese name to SMCSP? For example, SMB's Japanese name is スーパーマリオブラザーズ (Super Mario Brothers). --Mario Fan 123 - Mario's craazy fan! Artwork of Mario in his classic victory pose, from Super Mario 64. 02:17, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I think the name is スーパーマリオコレクションスペシャルパック, but I can't be too sure...

Wait

Are these games going to have the origanal graphics or are all the games going to have wii graphics. So for example, Super Mario Bros. with Wii graphics.

The original graphics. The game is an exact copy of Super Mario All-Stars. No differences. --Mario Fan 123 - Mario's craazy fan! Artwork of Mario in his classic victory pose, from Super Mario 64. 21:55, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Name

I think it should be renamed to "Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition" as American name.SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Only the first English name can be used. Fawfulfury65

Disc

There's something wierd I found out about this game. Unlike other Wii games, you can take the disc out of the Wii and you can still play it normally. Should this be noted? Pgj1997 13:11, 12 August 2011 (EDT)

Copies Made?

Since this game is a limited edition video game and that retailers like GameStop no longer carry this game as of mid-2011, we should add how many copies of this game were published per region and total, since we know games like these are harder to find if they're limited edition. --PrincessDaisyFanatic3883 02:16, 19 March 2012 (EDT)

Merge this and Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World into Super Mario All-Stars, and split appropriate info to 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

This article, as well as Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World, is separate from Super Mario All-Stars for no reason at all. Let me tell you why:

  • Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World is essentially version 2.0 of Super Mario All-Stars. Is it necessary for it to have its own article? No, not at all. In fact, the entire article is basically a "differences from Super Mario World" section, so it's an easy merge. A one-section article about a rerelease is not important at all.
  • Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition is nothing more than a VC game released on a disc as opposed to the Wii Shop. Do we split VC ports? No. So should we have this as a separate article? No. That said, this article does have info on the extra pack-ins, so we could split that info into a new article, 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros. But a separate article for a single emulated game with no differences from the original? I think not. It's not even a "limited edition" anymore, making it even more pointless.

Ultimately, these are all the same game, and there is no reason why we should have more than one article for it. I'm including a variety of options in this proposal, though, if you disagree with any splits or merges.

Merge both pages into Super Mario All-Stars, and split appropriate info to 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

Merge both pages into Super Mario All-Stars, but do not split any info into a new page

Merge this page into Super Mario All-Stars and split appropriate info to 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros., but leave Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World alone

Merge this page into Super Mario All-Stars, do not split any info into a new page, and leave Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World alone

Do nothing

Shouldn't that be a regular proposal, since it discusses two groups of articles? Blue Yoshi from Yoshi's Story Yoshi Egg 1990 Red Yoshi holding a Bumber 'Chute 16:11, 15 July 2018 (EDT)

Our policy says that, when discussing small groups of articles, the matter still warrants a TPP. A regular proposal is in order when discussing bigger matters. -YFJ (talk · edits) 17:41, 15 July 2018 (EDT)

Keep in mind, we do this for other games too: Donkey Kong Jr. + Jr. Math Lesson, Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Jr./Mario Bros., and New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U. Merging All-Stars would be inconsistent with how we already cover these types of compilations. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 16:01, 16 July 2018 (EDT)

Yeah, I've been thinking about creating a bigger proposal that handles reissues in general. We deal with compliations in an odd way, and we're very inconsistent with ports, so I'm probably going to propose a solution to all of that soon enough. I may end up canceling this for the sake of proposing something bigger, but right now I'm waiting and seeing how this is going to turn out. Right now, I'm focused on this one game with three redundant articles, but then I'll deal with the rest. -YFJ (talk · edits) 17:09, 16 July 2018 (EDT)
