Split Launch Star (move) from Launch Star

These need to be split. One is an object, while the other is a move that, while based on the object, is a completely different thing otherwise. They also don't share the same Japanese name - the object is named "Star Ring" (スターリング, Sutā Ringu), while the move is named "Galaxy Jump" (ギャラクシージャンプ, Gyarakushī Janpu) - all the more reason they should be separate pages. With the proposal to merge the relevant Smash articles and keeping Mario-related special moves separate (while merging the non-Mario ones) being part of it, this split can be done.

Support

  1. Mario jc (talk) Per my proposal and TheFlameChomp.
  2. TheFlameChomp (talk) I agree, as several other moves are similarly split from the subject, such as Mechakoopa (move) and Peach Parasol (move). I also feel it makes sense since the object itself will appear as an item in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  3. YoshiEgg1990 (talk) Per all.
  4. BBQ Turtle (talk) This should just be for the item, per all. Also Toad (move) is separate, so it seems like it's only this one that's remained together.
  5. Toadette the Achiever (talk) Couldn't be more clear-cut.
  6. Alex95 (talk) - I thought this was a separate thing already. Per all.
  7. Yoshi the SSM (talk) Per all.

Comments

I'm assuming Launch Star (item) would also be created at some point, due to the new item in Ultimate? I see it's already on the main Launch Star page, but would that split make sense? Unlike the Launch Stars of Galaxy, this one is deployable. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 10:51, 14 June 2018 (EDT)

It'd probably use the game identifier instead, though, since it acts as an object once placed. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 12:36, 14 June 2018 (EDT)
Game identifier would be confusing, since Launch Star (move) and Launch Star (item) are both in Ultimate. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 12:38, 14 June 2018 (EDT)
We'd use "(item)" because that's how Smash always refers to them in-game, regardless of whether they become an object or not. But what makes the item different enough to be split? Yeah, that's mainly why I was asking, if a split was necessary in the first place. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 21:44, 14 June 2018 (EDT)
Still though, Fire Bars are an object, while the ones in Smash are items, that does not change the fact that in their initial appearance that is also mimicked by the grand majority of their appearances, they are an object.
