Li'l Sparkies are small sparks that travel across platforms. The have the same immunities as Boos (i.e. invincible to almost everything). Additionally, Big Sparkies could be found in Bowser's Castle. Big Sparkies are usually known as Hot Heads. They appear in Super Mario World.
In Paper Mario, a Li'l Sparky named Watt was imprisoned and tortured by the Big Lantern Ghost. After Mario defeats the Lantern Ghost, Watt joins Mario's party, making Watt the first playable Li'l Sparky.
