VS. Wrecking Crew is a two-player arcade version of Wrecking Crew (1985, NES) which was released in 1984, predating the 1985 console game Wrecking Crew.
Gameplay
VS. Wrecking Crew is less puzzle-oriented than its console counterpart. There is no vertical scrolling, as the whole playfield is visible at once. The game lacks a level editor, and features a competitive simultaneous two-player mode that utilized the capabilities of the VS. Dualsystem units: both players have their own screens, and both screens have each player's perspective. If an enemy walks through a door, they will go the opposite side of the playfield and kill that player upon contact. Enemies that can kill the player on a given screen are orange, while those on the other side of the playfield are blue.
In single player, Luigi acts similar to Foreman Spike, and is present in all levels.
