Template:Minigame-infobox Blazing Lassos is a Duel Minigame in Mario Party 8. The name is a pun on the video game Blazing Lazers, and may also be a reference to the satirical western film, Blazing Saddles.
Introduction
Player 1 throws a lasso and yanks back a barrel (which does not count towards the goal). Then the game starts.
Gameplay
The players' goal is to get more points than their opponent by lassoing in barrels with numbers marked on them. The numbers are 5, 10, 20, 30, and 50. The catch is that the barrels are on spinning wheels, and the barrel that the player lassos in is almost completely random. Whoever has more points after twenty seconds wins. If the players' scores are the same, then the game ends in a tie.
Ending
The winning player does a winning pose, while the loser is dizzy on the barrel holder.
In-game text
- Rules – "Twirl your lasso, rope a barrel, then yank it back to your pile! You'll get the points marked on each one."
- Hint – "You can't throw your lasso until you've twirled it enough! It'll glow when it's time to throw!"
