I was reading an article about their trophies and came across this: ''"Those white masks are just eerie, but it's possible they are better than what actually hides behind them... Anyway, some people claim to have seen '''tall Shy Guys with longer masks than normal'''. In Smash Run, yellow Shy Guys are great jumpers, so they'll drop Jump stat boosts when defeated."'' When I read this, I automatically thought of Stretch guys. Does anybody else think that it is possible that this was a reference? Why isn't this page called "Stretch (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)"? You could argue that it's because ''Yoshi's Island'' was remade, but there exists the article [[Spiny (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)]] as well, using a game identifier. Boo Stretches don't appear in ''Yoshi's Island'' and Shy Guy Stretches don't appear in any games besides ''Yoshi's Island'', so I'm not sure why this page doesn't use a game identifier. {{User:Scrooge200/sig}} 01:44, December 11, 2019 (EST) |

Aren't these Melon Guys?--Dreyfus2006 06:00, 12 June 2007 (EDT)
- You're right; we have an article both here and at Melon Guy. I've never heard them referred to as "Melon Guy", but then again, I've only heard "Stretch" from themushroomkingdom.net... Well, seeing as this page is slightly longer than Melon Guy, I'll just redirect that here until we figure out which name is official. YELLOWYOSHI398
In SMW Central, the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island manual says it's name is Stretch.
Reference in Smash Bros?

- There isn't any other Shy Guys like Stretch Guy, so it's likely that it's a reference. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:10, 10 September 2015 (EDT)
