During the minigame, teams Ground Pound pairs of face-down cards, collecting them if the cards match.
The team that gets four pairs of matched cards first is the winner. However, if both teams manage to get four pairs of the two matching cards at the same time or if five minutes pass without the teams getting four pairs, the minigame ends in a tie. The cards show pictures of a green Koopa Shell, a red Paratroopa shell, a green Yoshi Egg, a pink Egg, a Cheep-Cheep, a Lakitu's Cloud, a Fire Flower, a Buzzy Beetle, and a Mushroom.
