Kootie Pie Rocks is the sixteenth episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. Milli Vanilli guest stars, voicing themselves.
Plot Synopsis
The episode begins with Cheatsy Koopa spying on Mario, Luigi, and Toad, all of whom are dressed in tuxedos (or, "dumb penguin suits", as mentioned by Luigi). Toad insists that they look good for the Milli Vanilli concert they're going to see, just as Princess Toadstool enters the room in much more casual clothes than the other three. Before Mario and Luigi can get angry at Toad, the Princess tells them they better head out, and they leave for New York City.
Cheatsy returns to Kastle Koopa and tells King Koopa and Kootie Pie about the Marios' plans. Kootie Pie throws a tantrum that she isn't meeting Milli Vanilli when Princess Toadstool is. Narrowly avoiding the objects Kootie Pie throws, King Koopa promises that, with Cheatsy's help, he'll kidnap Milli Vanilli for Kootie Pie to keep.
Meanwhile at the concert, Milli Vanilli begins playing Blame it on the Rain. Midway through the song, King Koopa and Cheatsy appear in their Doomship and abduct Milli Vanilli. Mario and Princess first believe it was a planned exit, but King Koopa's sinister laughter indicates otherwise.
Rob and Fab eventually find themselves in Kastle Koopa, with a thrilled Kootie Pie. She demands they play a private concert for her, but at their refusal, she transforms them into accountants (which Rob finds makes them abnormal people). They find that the exit is guarded by Sledge Bros., and Kootie Pie tells them that they will be stuck in Dark Land forever.
The Marios creep into Kastle Koopa and eavesdrop on the conversation, hearing Fab say that they can't play without their backup band. As a result, Mario, Luigi, Princess, and Toad disguise themselves as a traveling backup band--"Backups Are We"--and offer to play for Kootie Pie. Princess Toadstool asks who they're playing for, and Kootie Pie points out the accountants. Toadstool tells her to prove that they're Milli Vanilli, and so she changes them back to normal. The Marios then play a rather off-key version of Girl You Know it's True. The song appeals to Kootie Pie, but King Koopa and his minions flee at the sound of it. While Kootie Pie is dancing, Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, Toad, and Milli Vanilli run away. She soon finds out and screams at Koopa to get them back. He says that the music was awful and he'd be better off with a tantrum. Kootie Pie is threatened to go to the dungeon, and so she forgets the whole thing.
Back in New York, Milli Vanilli return to the concert and play Girl You Know it's True - dedicating it to the Princess.
