List of references in video games

Mairo characters have appeared as cameos in other Nintendo games over the course of Mario's long history. Below is a list of some of these appearences.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Lon Lon Ranch owners, Ingo, Talon, both look like the Mario Bros. Ingo Talon and Malon wear necklaces with Bowser's head on it.

In the area where Zelda usually stands in the Hyrule Castle courtyard there's a window on the right. Look in it at differnt angles and you can see pictures of Yoshi, Peach, Mario, Bowser, and Luigi.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

The Happy Mask Trader carrys a backpack with a Mario mask on it.

Sim City

If your city has a population of 500,000 residents you will earn a Mario statue.

The bonus scenario Freeland has it's trees shapped like Mario's head.

Bowser can appear and destroy your city by selecting him on the disasters menu.

The Tokyo scenario has Bowser walking through the city, like Godzilla.

Uniracers

The Hopper track Wario Paint is a spin off of the game Mario Paint.

Kirby Super Star

Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Birdo can be seen in a mini-games audience.

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!

Mario acts as the in-ring referee.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Lakitu appears as an enemy who throws lightning bolts at Link, then dissapears back into his cloud.

Virtual Reality Mario Brothers

A couple of students at a computer school created a Mario virtual reality game with a program called ALICE. It is unofficial, but a video can be seen here.

Animal Crossing

There are several unlockable NES games that can be played, including Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong 3, and Super Mario Bros.. There is also a Mario statue and a Luigi statue. The character Kapp'n sings a song about how he sings better than Mario and Gulliver talks about his goldfish back in Toad Town. There are pieces of furniture, such as Warp Pipes, Starmen, and Fire Flowers to be unlocked with cheat codes.
