Despite being a ''Mario'' character, using Wario's amiibo in this game will only lead to the player using a Mini Spek, as there is no toy based on Wario in this game. Similarly, using [[Skylanders: SuperChargers|the Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser amiibo]] results in the player controlling Mini Spek instead of [[Mini Donkey Kong]] or [[Mini Bowser (toy)|Mini Bowser]].
