- Yoshi's Woolly World (pictured) is the first Yoshi game to be on a home console since Yoshi's Story on the Nintendo 64.
- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga was originally going to feature several non-Mario characters in the Starbeans Café, including Link, Samus and Olimar.
- In the Japanese version of Mario Sports Mix, Corona Mountain is used as the third arena in Smash Skate.
- Mario Party 3 and Mario Party 6 are the only games in the Mario Party series without a Bowser themed board.
