Clown Cannon is Bowser Jr.'s neutral special move in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. A cannon appears from the mouth of the Junior Clown Car, charging a shot for as long as the player holds down the special attack button. When released, the cannon fires a cannonball that flies farther and deals more damage the longer the move is charged, and the move is even stronger if the cannonball hits an opponent that is closer to Bowser Jr. Once the cannonball lands it can no longer damage opponents, the cannonball can only hit one opponent before it falls, and Bowser Jr. cannot fire another cannonball if one is onscreen.
The first unlockable custom special variant for this attack is Piercing Cannon, which allows the cannonball to go through opponents but it deals less damage. The second variant is Air Cannon, which makes the cannon shoot out air that pushes opponents rather than deal damage and does not travel as far.
