Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is an upcoming game for the Wii U, to be released in late 2014. The game is based off The Adventures of Captain Toad, but with added depth and variety. A trailer has been released with its announcement.

Gameplay

Captain Toad controls the same as in The Adventures of Captain Toad minigames from Super Mario 3D World, and cannot jump. He can pick plants from the ground which usually have coins or turnips, but can sometimes have Diamonds. These act similar to Coin Blocks in Mario platformers, as they can contain a single coin or 10 coins that the player must pull in a time limit. The turnips can be thrown at enemies in a Super Mario Bros. 2 fashion. The camera can be rotated in any direction to view the stage at different angles. Each stage will also have 3 diamonds, similar to Green Stars, and a stamp to collect.

The game is also planned to have amiibo functionality.[1]
