Was the Flower in SML called a "Superball Flower" or just "Flower"? -- Son of Suns
- The manual calls it "Flower". --YellowYoshi398 19:58, 20 January 2007 (EST)
- Thanks. The SML info should probably be moved higher up in the article. It is significant enough to be the first type of Flower discussed. -- Son of Suns
- That's true... Consider it done! --YellowYoshi398 13:51, 21 January 2007 (EST)
Superball Flower article
I think the Superball Flower should have its own article as oppose to having this article. The reason is because the Superball flower is an actual powerup. John Roberts
- I agree. Why not make a TPP?
I just made one. John Roberts 17:11, 21 December 2012 (EST)
Superball Flower article
Template:SettledTPP SPLIT 8-0
Superball Flower is actually named unlike the flowers from other games. They also powerup Mario. If you ask me, that sounds like something that needs its own article.

- JohnRoberts (talk) Superball Flower is actually named unlike the flowers from other games. They also powerup Mario.
- Pokémon Trainer Red (talk) Per JR
- YoshiKong (talk) Per proposal. The Flower article is mainly a "main hub" for the generic Flower and their appearances. All other Flowers which have a unique name are given their own article, such as Fire Flower and Power Flower.
- BowserJunior (talk) Per all. The Flowers from the YI games are collectible items. The Flower from SML is a power-up.
- SuperFireBowserJr. (talk) Superball Flower is an actual power-up in SML. The YI ones don't really power Yoshi up. That's like saying Fire Flower needs to be merged here.
- Bowser45 (talk)Per JohnRoberts
- Aokage (talk)Per SuperFireBowserJr.
- MegaKoopa (talk)Per all.
- YoshiAwsumness (talk) Per JohnRoberts and SuperFireBowserJr.

Is it actually called "Superball Flower"? If not, we should call it Flower (Super Mario Land). BowserJunior (talk) It says so in the article. KoopaGuy (talk)
- The manual accessible from the Home menu after downloading the game from the eShop refers to it as simply a Flower, which I think is why it was included in this article in the first place. Mario4Ever (talk)

Creating Superball Flower
Well, the proposal has been settled. Soon, Superball Flower will have its own article. However, the only problem is that the Superball Flower redirects to this article. Perhaps we need to ask a System Operator to fix the situation. -signed KoopaGuy (talk) aka John Roberts 16:02, 9 January 2013 (EST)
- No, we don't. The redirect can still be accessed and edited to include the information. But we won't do that. Once again, We should call it Flower (Super Mario 3D Land). >_<--File:EmblemMasterJr.png BowserJunior RULES! 23:34, 9 January 2013 (EST)
Actually, it's Flower (Super Mario Land).

As of Yoshi's New Island, the flower collectibles from the Yoshi games will be getting distinctive names. On the the official site for the upcoming game, click on "The New Island" and go to "Get the Goods". You'll see on that page, clear as day, that those flowers are now officially called Smiley Flowers.
Obviously, now that it has a non-generic name, the Yoshi item would get a page all for itself... but what do we do about the leftover information detailing the generic unnamed flowers from Super Mario RPG that replenish your FP?
I think the best course of action would be to split this page into two new ones: one that's all about the Yoshi's Island item (under the aforementioned new name), and another that acts as a catch-all article for flowers that aren't power ups or special collectibles (i.e., the FP-restoring flowers from Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario), just like how Mushroom contains information about generic mushrooms that don't power-up Mario (i.e., the HP-restoring mushrooms from the RPGs).

- Whybee (talk) The Yoshi's Island flowers need their own pages since they have actual names now. The non-power-up flowers should be lumped together in their own page since they don't have any special names.
- Coooool123 (talk) While normally I hate creating more pages, this seems like a viable thing to do! These are two very different things that shouldn't be stuck together as they have no similarities other than name. Per proposal.

I'd support moving Yoshi's Island information from this page to "Smiley Flower" while renaming "Flower" to "Flower (SMRPG-related crap)" for any Super Mario RPG-related information. Finally, the rest can go into disambiguation pages or into their respective articles. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 20:07, 3 March 2014 (EST)
