MS-DOS (short for Microsoft Disk Operating System) is an operating system produced by Microsoft, which can be found only on Microsoft computers. It is the predecessor of the Windows operating system. MS-DOS was popular in the 1980's, acting as a primary operating system for businesses and personal computers. MS-DOS also has the ability to run programs.
