== Bring back the GBA! ==
So, quick question to Nintendo, why did you remove the GBA slot from the DSi? It was still be sold at the time!

Merge?

I don't understant why should Nintendo DSi have it's own page, since it's in the DS series. I suggest you to merge it with the Nintendo DS article.--Internetakias 09:30, 6 April 2011 (EDT)

If you think so, then make a proposal. Red Yoshi TTYD.png Yoshiwaker File:Orange Yoshi TTYD.PNG 09:46, 6 April 2011 (EDT)
If you did this then we would have to merge the 3DS into the DS page aswell. And does that make sense? No. It's an entirely different system. --SuperYoshiBros 09:59, 6 April 2011 (EDT)
The DSi/DSiXL is a member in the DS series, the 3DS isn't.--Internetakias 10:08, 11 April 2011 (EDT)
Notice the 'DS' in 3DS, and how the 3DS and DS look similar? That must mean they are in the series, because that's the same relation as the DSi. FakeIco MCD.png MrConcreteDonkey 12:43, 13 April 2011 (EDT)

Merge Nintendo DSi with Nintendo DS

Template:SettledTPP Don't Merge! 1-20

The Nintendo DSi article should be merged with the Nintendo DS article because A. It's a member of the DS series, B. The other redesign of the Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS lite doesn't have a page. So, why should this redesign have a page?

Support

  1. Internetakias (talk) Per my proposal.

Oppose

  1. Kaptain K. Rool (talk) - NO! This is a different system that has the DS features, but yet still has a lot more stuff to do on it than the plain DS.
  2. Yoshiwaker (talk) - Per KKR.
  3. Reddragon19k (talk) - Per both.
  4. Mario4Ever (talk) Two cameras and DSiWare are pretty important distinctions.
  5. Magikrazy51 (talk) Would you also like to merge all the Game Boys together? Nope, did'nt think so. Per all.
  6. SWFlash (talk) There was a proposal that slitted them. I don't want them merged again.
  7. DKPetey99 (talk) Different systems! That's like merging Wii with GameCube! (Well maybe a little different)
  8. Bop1996 (talk) Per all. Per Arend's comment on Talk:Nintendo 3DS#Merge into Nintendo DS.
  9. UltraMario3000 (talk) Per all.
  10. LeftyGreenMario (talk) The DSi has internet, a camera, and even DSi games. It is kind of like Gameboy and Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance. You wouldn't merge those three systems into "Gameboy", no? I guess not.
  11. Mariomario64 (talk) Per all, especially LeftyGreenMario.
  12. Ultrahammer5365 (talk) DS and DSi are totally different systems, with totally different features. There is absolutely no reason to merge them.
  13. Zero777 (talk) There are too many different functions in the DSi that it needs its own article or else it and the 3DS will look obscurely and unnecessarily long out into the Nintndo DS article.
  14. Mario Fan 123 (talk) - Per all! The DSi has like a thrillion extra features, like DSi Sound, Camera, Internet Browser, Flipnote Studio and even the DSi Shop, which itself contains a lot of games! Not counting the redesigned menu and lots of things. The DS? It has a old menu, only with PictoChat and the two game slots. The article stays.
  15. MrConcreteDonkey (talk) - Per all.
  16. Mr.C (talk) - Per all.
  17. Arend (talk) Per all, including myself on the page Bop1996 showed.
  18. Superfiremario (talk) The DS and DSi are different systems. It's like merging all the Gameboy articles into one.
  19. Walkazo (talk) - Per all.
  20. Mario304 (talk)- Per all.

Comments

I fixed the formatting: new sections (including TPPs) go on the bottom of a page, and TPPs run for two weeks, not one, without an initial 24-hour voting start delay. This was proposed on the 11th, so it ends on the 25th. - Walkazo 13:06, 11 April 2011 (EDT)

I want to make it clear to everyone that A. The 3DS is a successor to the DS series, B. The DSi/DSiXL is in the DS series, all the consoles that are in the same series should be in the same page and not have their own pages and C. There was a web browser, a music player, and a camera (Japan only) for the original DS.--Internetakias 09:28, 12 April 2011 (EDT)

Consoles in the same series should have separate articles unless they do not differ significantly from their predecessors, which is why the Game Boy Advance consoles aren't separated. The DSi and DSiXL possess features that the DS does not have. Also, do you have a source for your claim concerning the Japanese DS? I'm sure it would be in this wiki by now if it were true, considering how long the console's existed. Mario4Ever (talk) 16:59, 12 April 2011 (EDT)
Here's the proof for the existence of the ds camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ_UrGFvYZU
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Internetakias (talk).
Ok, but we have no way of knowing if that was before or after launch, regardless of upload date. Also, the camera looks to be something inserted into the GBA slot, and it must have been a failed endeavor if none of the rest of the world got it. Mario4Ever (talk) 20:53, 13 April 2011 (EDT)
Tried wikipedia? Look at this article; the game's named "Facening de Hyōjō Yutaka ni Inshō Up: Otona no DS Kao Training" and released at August 7, 2007 Japan-only. It was released before DSi. Other accessories are found here. SWFlashSWFlash.svg
Intriguing. However, accessories are nothing compared to built-in soft/hardware. Since you oppose the merge, I assume you know that. :) Mario4Ever (talk) 15:59, 15 April 2011 (EDT)
