Iggy is a cousin and henchmen of the evil King Koopa in the Super Mario Bros. movie. Iggy is a character based on Bowser's son, Iggy Koopa. Although the names are similar, many of their traits are not. In this movie, Iggy is not Bowser's son but his cousin. He is also the cousin of Spike. Iggy and Spike are found together in pairs serving King Bowser. Iggy is revealed to be the "brains" of the duo. Later, Iggy and Spike become allies of the Mario Bros..
Iggy is not to be confused with Iggy Koopa. However, it is very likely that the writers of the movie named the character after Iggy Koopa.
