Tulips are giant flying red flowers in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 and Yoshi's Island DS. When an egg (or a spit-up enemy) falls inside a tulip, the flower will start spitting out stars. Like many other things in the Mario series, Tulips have eyes.
Also, three "Small Tulips" appear in the minigame Tulip Shooter.
