History
New Super Mario Bros. U
Waddlewings are introduced in New Super Mario Bros. U, where they are rather common enemies, mainly in Acorn Plains and sky levels. Sometimes, they are seen running, however, most of them glide from side to side. Some are also seen clinging to walls.
They behave like the Super Koopas from Super Mario World, but instead of obtaining equilibrium in flight, they will always glide diagonally. When they land they will walk slowly and try to walk off a ledge to glide in that direction. If they bump into a wall while gliding, they will cling to it for a second and then glide the opposite direction. Waddlewings can also carry Super Acorns and drop them if they are defeated.
