Template:Minigame-infobox Coney Island is a 4-player minigame found in Mario Party 5. It is named for the famous amusement park in Brooklyn. Originally, the minigame was named Ice-Cream Catcher, and was included as part of a Mario Party 5 demo found on a bonus disk bundled with some copies of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.
Introduction
The camera shows the entire Mario statue as it heads up to the surface of the ice cream cone it holds, with the four players on it.
Gameplay
This minigame's object is to catch the scoops ice cream that fall from above by moving to where their shadow is. As the player's pile of ice cream becomes bigger, it becomes harder for him or her to walk and turn. The player with the biggest ice cream cone at the end of the thirty-second time limit (and therefore, the one who caught the most ice cream) is the winner. There are 8 different flavors.
Ending
The four players line up in the center of the area. The winning player's ice cream cone then shrinks to a smaller size as he or she strikes a victory pose.
Trivia
- The minigame takes place atop a statue of Mario holding an ice cream cone upward, which plays homage to another New York City landmark, the Statue of Liberty.
