Pier Pressure is a Free-for-All minigame featured in Mario Party 9. It shares a similarity with the following minigames: Cheep Cheep Chance, a minigame from Mario Party DS; and Cut from the Team, a minigame from Mario Party 8.
Introduction
An underwater shot shows Cheep Cheeps and Urchins swimming around. It then goes above water and shows the pier and the players.
Gameplay
Players try to pick fishing lines that they think have Cheep Cheeps on them. If a player should pick a fishing rod with an Urchin, they are knocked into the water and eliminated. It is purely luck if you pick a fishing rod that is safe, or if you pick one that eliminates you.
Trivia
Pier Pressure is a pun on Peer Pressure, meaning to be in a friendship with other people that make you do things you feel uncomfortable doing.
