Robert William "Bob" Hoskins, Jr. (October 26, 1942) is an Academy Award-nominated English actor. He portrayed the live-action version of Mario seen in the movie Super Mario Bros., which was released in 1993.
Despite portraying Mario, he was not the lead protagonist of the film. This role was filled by his brother Luigi, portrayed by John Leguizamo.
