Just a question because I am new:  What exactly is Template:Gone, and what would it used for? --[[User:Toad85|The epicosity of the Mushroom shall astound thee]] 17:14, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

Delete Template:Gone

Template:SettledTPP DELETE 12-5

Proposer:' Superfiremario (talk)
Deadline: May 26, 2011, 23:59 GMT

This should be deleted. One, people hardly even use this template. Two, we shouldn't have these "user" templates because you can just put this coding down.

Support

  1. Superfiremario (talk) Per my proposal and here
  2. Bop1996 (talk) Per this proposal and the one on Template talk:Vacation.
  3. Reddragon19k (talk) I say lose it and that is a per both!
  4. BabyLuigiOnFire (talk) Per Bop
  5. Mariomario64 (talk) Meh, I was thinking about making this proposal myself, but I didn't have time to. :/
  6. Zero777 (talk) Per all
  7. Mario4Ever (talk) Per all.
  8. Nicke8 (talk) I checked. Only 3 users use it. One is blocked!
  9. Arend (talk) Hardly anyone uses it. Even if the opposers win, I bet no one (of them) will use it after all.
  10. Mariomaster228 (talk) Once again, it isn't necessary, per all.
  11. Mpeng (talk) Useless templates. Per all.0
  12. Mario Fan 123 (talk) This shall be replaced with Template:Vacation.

Oppose

  1. DKPetey99 (talk) Having this template hurts no one! I've used it once, so why not use it again? Also, Per Kong vs Koopa's comments.
  2. UltraMario3000 (talk) Multiple users are using, so why delete it when there will just be a red link?
  3. BoygeyDude (talk) Per UM3000.
  4. DK and Diddy Kong vs Bowser and Bowser Jr. (talk) Per both Piranha Kong and UM3000.
  5. Bowser's luma (talk) Deleting must be fun for you guys; what's the harm in keeping this?

Comments

@UM's vote: No! Only 3 users used it. Only 3! Superfiremario (talk)

There is absolutely no harm in keeping this template. DKPetey99 (talk)

Since I'm going to use it, I say to keep this.

@DKPetey: There are 3 of the thousands of users who ever used it. A waste of space, just like spam. Arend (talk)

@Arend: It is not spam! After this is deleted, what if nobody has it as a section of their user page and several years later somebody wants to use it again? I see this template as helpful. Fine then, if this is deleted, then the reminder template is useless since we can just copy the code on an user talk page. The last warning template is useless since we can just copy the code on an user talk page. And so on. DK and Diddy Kong vs Bowser and Bowser Jr. (talk)

Answer this question for me: Why do we really need this template? The argument I have is that people can just say Vacationing at Florida. Coming back in a week. They don't need a template, they can just use bold text, or use a status box. --Reversinator 09:55, 21 May 2011 (EDT)

A template should be easier to notice. Besides, the Status box is not allowed for a subpage.

Hardly a good reason to keep it. If you want to make it easier to notice, use some of the less common codes like the color codes. If people just do this, they might learn about these rarer codes. And you can always put the coding for a status box on your userpage. --Reversinator 10:10, 21 May 2011 (EDT)

Try countering my arguement. R.O.B.Remembered Old BuddyROBSSB4EN.png Besides, this means that we have to delete every other template. The warning template, the blocked user template, etc. only because we can just copy the code. P.S. Color Coding is a lot more complicated.

You didn't even counter my argunent. And color codes are easy to do. It's just red. How is that hard? --Reversinator 09:23, 22 May 2011 (EDT)

I give up arguing. I just dislike the fact that the supporters said that this is useless. DK and Diddy Kong vs Bowser and Bowser Jr. (talk)

Yes. This orange

This template harmed no one. The fact we deleted it was just weird. Just because three people use it, doesn't mean it must be deleted. When people retire, they'll probably use this. I just want this back. Since Template:Vacation still exists, so should this!

Bring Back

  1. DKPetey99 (talk) Again, no harm in having this template.
  2. UltraMario3000 (talk) Per DeeKayPeeNinety-Nine.
  3. BoygeyMario (talk) Per All! :)
  4. YoshiGo99 (talk) Per proposer.
  5. Bowser's luma (talk) It's a nice convenience to have.

Stay Deleted

  1. Mario4Ever (talk) The vacation template works well enough for absences, and if and when a user retires, he or she can just announce it on his or her user page or talk page. No need for a template in order to do that.
  2. BabyLuigiOnFire (talk) My reason still stands for the deletion of this template
  3. Zero777 (talk) per supporters in previous proposal.
  4. Goomba's Shoe15 (talk) You've given zero new reasons as to why this template should be restored so per the original proposal this is a useless template nobody ever used it so why am i to think people will start using it now
  5. SWFlash (talk) Per Mario4Ever.
  6. Dry-Petey (talk) Per Mario4ever.
  7. Superfiremario (talk) Per my proposal and everyone's supporting on it.
  8. Reddragon19k (talk) Stay there! Leave it deleted! Per all!
  9. Walkazo (talk) - Per all.
  10. Baby Mario Bloops (talk) - There were other things that were harmless, like the fake new message templates and the fake warning templates. User-relations stunts/templates should be kept in Userpedia.
