These blocks, though, are not just there for the player to hit. In a side-scroller like engine, there are a total of three rows of Brick Blocks, which move from left to right. The player's character in restricted to only move from left to right, rather than in all directions like in most other mini-games. The rows, though, stop every now and then for a few seconds, which the players can use especially to climber to higher rows of bricks. The players may also step off one side of the screen and appear the other, like in ''[[Mario Bros. (game)|Mario Bros.]]''

Template:Minigame-infobox Coin Cache is a coin-collecting 4-Player mini-game found in Mario Party 5.

Like in any other coin-collecting mini-game in the Mario Party series, the goal of the player is to collect the most coins within the time limit. In this specific game, the player must smash as many Brick Blocks as possible, hoping to obtain coins. Like in most Mario games, the coins don't fall out; the player just has to hit the block to obtain the coin. In the intro, the four players are seen exiting Princess Peach's Castle, which can be seen in the background, and running to the area with the Brick Blocks.

There are three types of blocks in this mini-game:

  • Brick Block 1: This Brick Block contains nothing. When hit, it is destroyed.
  • Brick Block 2: Unlike the first Brick Block, this one contains a single coin. When hit, it transforms into a Used Block, which contains nothing.
  • Brick Block 3: The rarest of all the Brick Blocks, this one can be hit several times, as it contains more than just one coin inside it. When it has no more coins, it turns into a Used Block, containing nothing.

These blocks, though, are not just there for the player to hit. In a side-scroller-like engine, there are a total of three rows of Brick Blocks, which move from left to right. The player is restricted to only move from left to right, rather than in all directions, like in most other mini-games. The rows of blocks, though, stop moving every now and then for a few seconds, and then, a few seconds later, move in the opposite direction, which the players can use to climb to higher rows of bricks. The players may also step off one side of the screen and appear on the other, like in Mario Bros..
