A Beanstone is an item that Mario and Luigi find in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga; Beanstones are the treasures of the ancient Soybean Civilization. Collecting these treasures is optional, however. It appears in pre-selected spots of the Beanbean Castle Town after talking to a Beanbean scholar who happens to be Fava's brother. If the Mario Bros. collect them all and return them to the scholar, then he will give them a Bros. Rock badge. After Cackletta's second invasion of the Castle Town, this sidequest is not open.
