A Deke is a move used in Super Mario Strikers and Mario Strikers Charged. While the player has the ball, and the opponent is coming to steal the ball, the player can press the "Y" button or tilt the "C" stick to for the Deke Move in Super Mario Strikers, or press the D-pad on the Wii Remote in the desired direction for Charged. The Deke Move is used to avoid the opponent's tackle. If the player has right timing, the player will successfully dodge the opponent's tackle.

Captains' Dekes

  • Mario – Spins forward in the direction he's facing.
  • Luigi – Leaps forward in the direction he's facing.
  • Princess Peach – Jumps in the air with the ball in the direction she's facing.
  • Princess Daisy – Disappears and reappears in the direction she's facing.
  • Wario – Smashes the ground with a "Butt Smash", blasting others away, and moving in the direction he's facing.
  • Waluigi – Disappears and reappears in the direction he's facing.
  • Yoshi – Leaps forward in the direction he's facing.
  • Donkey Kong – Pounds his chest, sending shock waves all around his body, hurting anyone who hits him.
  • Bowser – Hides away in his shell, hurting anyone who hits him.
  • Bowser Jr. – Hides away in his shell, leaps in the air, and smashes down blasting others away, and moving in the direction he's facing.
  • Diddy Kong – Jumps in the air with the ball in the direction he's facing.
  • Petey Piranha – Shakes his head around, hurting anyone who hits him.

Sidekicks' Dekes

  • Toad – Jumps in the air with the ball in the direction he's facing.
  • Hammer Bro. – Jumps up, and smashes a giant hammer on the ground blasting others away, and moving in the direction he's facing.
  • Koopa Troopa – Slides forward in his shell in the direction he's facing.
  • Birdo – Spins around, hurting anyone who hits her.
  • Boo – Turns invisible, and moves forward in the direction he's facing. This can go through other players.
  • Dry Bones – Disappears and reappears in the direction he's facing.
  • Monty Mole – Digs underground, and leaps back up, hurting anyone above him.
  • Shy Guy – Leaps forward in the direction he's facing.
