I remember bringing this up three year ago, but the general consensus at the time was to give everything officially named its own article. Of course, the community has changed a lot since then. You could make a proposal about it. You can still unstub the recipes. You can describe the game it appeared in, how it can be made, descibe its appearance, what it does, and the value of the item (how much it is sold for). That's at least five sentences, which should be enough to unstub them. As for the part about the value of the recipe, you can probably find that in an item FAQ on Gamefaqs.-- 14:41, 15 October 2009 (EDT)

Why would most of them be Paper Mario food items? This just perplexes me a lot.

Hi, I'm kind of new here, working on unstubifying and whatnot. Huge Mario fan, doing my part. I was looking through stubbed articles and noticed a few of them to be special attacks from Super Mario RPG. I think they should be merged to the page of whoever it is; Geno Boost to Geno and the like. Also, most items for Super Mario RPG are stubs, so they should be merged. And once again, I noticed a few stubs are the special powers for Mario Superstar Baseball, Tongue Catch, Ball Dash,  etc.  - Tac0bell89 19:13, 14 December 2009 (EST)
That is a pretty good idea... Wait for more user's opinions, though.
They have potential to be expanded and merging them would cause inconsistencies with other special moves articles. This should probably be brought up as a proposal.--Knife 20:58, 14 December 2009 (EST)
I'm just saying there isn't a whole lot to add to them...it would be a great idea to merge them, one large convenient article to answer all questions, you know what I'm saying? - Tac0bell89 10:46, 15 December, 2009 (EST)

Ishnail's Turf, actually just another name for East Rogueport. The source of this name is an NPC in said turf who uses this term. Any objections? - 06:15, 17 December 2009 (EST)
:Go for it. Just be sure to make note in the East Side section that it is "also known as". That said, a redirect may not even be necessary. Depends on how notable you feel the one mention of that name is. Redstar 06:24, 17 December 2009 (EST)
::Well, the name was stated in the game, so I think leaving a redirect would be the most reasonable thing IMHO. Thanks for the update, though the only reason the percent went down was because of the huge influx of new articles that are being created. Perhaps it would be more efficient to give an estimate of the actual number of stubs.--Knife 19:38, 17 August 2011 (EDT)

Definition of a "Stub"[edit]

When does a stub cease to be a stub? Is there some sort of definition? I always thought of stubs to be about one to two sentences long, but I've also seen longer articles marked as stub. - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 12:59, 14 October 2009 (EDT)

I think articles longer than two sentences can also be stubs, as long as there is much more to write about a topic. For example, if the Mario article were 20 sentences long, it would be a stub as well, IMO. Time Questions 14:40, 14 October 2009 (EDT)
Agree with Time Q. It depends on how complex the subject is. --Grandy02 14:43, 14 October 2009 (EDT)
Yeah, ok, the Mario-article with 20 sentences IS ridiculous. But take Cymbal Bush for an example. I just rewrote that part and added everything I could think of. However, it's still only 997 bytes in size. Would that still be a stub?-Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 14:45, 14 October 2009 (EDT)

Personally, I consider something unstubbed if it contains the five things I described in the "Main Page" example. The physical size of the article doesn't matter as long as all the important information is covered. You don't need to make it FA quality to unstub it. That example you linked to is definitely not a stub.--Knife (talk) 16:30, 14 October 2009 (EDT)

Merge Recipes[edit]

Many of these stubs are food items from the Paperi Mario series. It is hard to add more information to them, because there's little to say about them. The only thing we could add to those is a description what the item looks like. Perhaps it would be better to merge them, like the article about Badges? - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 10:57, 15 October 2009 (EDT)

As for the part about the value of the recipe, you can probably find that in an item FAQ on Gamefaqs.--Knife (talk) 14:41, 15 October 2009 (EDT)
