Dark Clefts are pitch black, shady Clefts that live in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials, in Super Paper Mario. They have a very high Defense, (actually the best of all the enemies in the game), but Boomer can flip them over, lowering their Defense to 0. Like their relatives, Dark Clefts disguise themselves as rocks, however their mimicry is somewhat useless since they are utterly black. They attack by charging at intruders.
