| As of 21:55, 16 October 2006 (EDT), there are 541 registered users. Only about 20% or less of users have user pages, and about half of those contribute at least somewhat to the wiki (leaving us with less than 10%, or inbetween 40-50 contributors). Often, their efforts go unnoticed on the wiki, when their contributions should be recognized for adding to our hard-core database. Thus, this experimentation process has been made, inspired from Wikipedia, to give out awards (in the form of stars, including a couple of stars you should be familiar with!) for different types of efforts, as a thanks for your time at the wiki. Details on the beginnings of this project follow.

| ==This is a Experiment==
| |
| PipeProjects were necessary because the wiki has grown with need of multiple pages and enough contributors to do the job. However, we don't necessary have to have awards. Wayoshi believes that it would be great if people can thank each other for their efforts with their consent, but perhaps not many others agree with him, and the idea will die eventually. Thus:

| This idea and/or project is still in the experiment stage. Nothing is set in stone. It is up to the contributors whether the project will stand. The creator of this, Wayoshi, has images with which to create the images to be used for the stars. Templates may or may not be created by Wayoshi. If other members find the idea unnecessary, the idea will be dropped. If they find it a good idea to recognize contributions with a simple image and description in an appropriate manner, the idea will stand like PipeProjects have.

| Feedback would be fully appreciated at the talk page, as it would help determine the standing of the idea.

| ==How it Would be Done==
| |
| While not fully organized yet, this is the general gist:
| |
| | |
| Wayoshi would have the awards uploaded as images and likely codes on the file page itself, not bigger than 400X400px at the most, but most likely resized to about 250px when used. Templates would most likely be created to be used on user talk pages as an option to put new awards, or the user can request to just have an award be presented in a new section. Or, even, a user can have a template saying he would like no award images, just nice comments instead. In the scenario of a full award, the award image resized would go on top, with a description (why? where?) and signature of the giver at the end.

| Best of all, all users can give awards to any other user at any time for many contributions or even an excellent, major one – any time. However, this comes providing there's no abuse of this privilege, and there would be warnings involved for a) giving out too many awards at once, b) giving out too many awards at once to one person, c) obvious giving of awards to a person who doesn't deserve the award, and blocks involved for giving yourself awards.

| | |
| Again, feedback would be very appreciated at the talk page (link above). Nothing for templates or creating a policy for the privilege described above will be done until the project/idea until there is consensus, though some images may be uploaded ahead of time.
