These two identical characters are only seen once in the game, sharing a scene with the same basic role. We have plenty of articles for duos shown in similar capacity that do not split the members of them (Cork and Cask, the Jellyfish Sisters, and Gramma Red and Gramma Green come to mind, and heck, the Koopa Bros. have more distinguishing characteristics and scenes from each other in the same game and they aren't split), so I see no reason for these to be split from each other - I think the articles should be merged to become "Spiky John and Spiky Tom." Mr. Hammer has the excuse of being a different species and having a slightly different role (asking the questions instead of answering them, as well as giving the rewards), so he can stay split. Merge Spiky John and Spiky Tom into one article?[edit]
Per the above discussion. These are two characters with identical roles, identical appearances, names clearly meant to go together, who never appear apart from eachother. Here is their entire appearance in the game, for those lacking context.

Don't merge[edit]
Spiky Comments[edit]
Would the merged page be called "Spiky John and Spiky Tom" or "Spiky Tom and Spiky John"? I assume the former since it's in alphabetical order but not sure if there's anything in-game that could indicate a preferred order (who shows up first, dialogue, etc). - i don't know if we have a standard for it, but i will point out Tom stands to the left and John to the right, so if you wanted to base it off of that it'd be Spiky Tom and Spiky John. Tom also has the most prominent role out of the two, being the one who carries Peach off. — eviemaybe (talk / contributions) 22:24, January 11, 2025 (EST)
@Doc von Schmeltwick: It does need a proposal to overturn a previous one. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 07:28, January 12, 2025 (EST)

- Well, my argument was mainly the existence of Goomba (Super Paper Mario character), but that doesn't hold up anymore. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 07:58, January 12, 2025 (EST)
