Koopa vs. Koopa Troopa[edit]
Dark Nokonoko qualifies for a derived name. The prefix is actually rather trivial, as they appear in the level Beware of the Rifts (Fureru na kiken! Semari kuru kuroi kage) and alongside Rift Mario (Kage Mario), so it seems clear that Super Mario Bros. Wonder is consistently translating "kage" as "rift". The unclear part is actually the subject, Nokonoko. Koopa Troopas have many, Many variants, but their naming is not totally consistent. Particularly, they tend to vary between "X Koopa Troopa" or simply "X Koopa". So, should this article be renamed to Rift Koopa Troopa, Rift Koopa, or stay as Dark Nokonoko? (or in fact, move to Kage Nokonoko, the official Japanese name?)--PopitTart (talk) 22:55, December 19, 2024 (EST)
- I think "Rift Koopa Troopa" would be fine, but the other new Koopa Troopa variant in Wonder is just called Rolla Koopa without the "Troopa," so perhaps "Rift Koopa" would be the most reasonable extrapolation. I agree with interpreting "Kage" as "Rift" given the enemy's connections with Rift Mario and rifts in general. - Nintendo101 (talk) 23:09, December 19, 2024 (EST)
