Mario movie 2[edit]
It got its name: “The Super Mario Bros Movie 2” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:The_Super_Mario_Bros._Movie_2_logo.jpg

- Take it with a grain of salt: it's a fanmade logo. I do not know the exact source of it, but people used it in fanmade trailers from last year back in April; the first movie wasn't even a month old at that point, and a sequel was far from being confirmed either. Now, I have heard that IMAX did show off this logo recently (I suppose during SDCC), but since it's identical to a fanmade logo that's been floating around the internet for at least a year and three months, I'm 100% certain they just plucked a good-looking logo off the internet without knowing if it's actually legit or not. rend (talk) (edits) 19:33, July 27, 2024 (EDT)
It's not a fanmade logo.

It lists all the official logos, including The Super Mario Bros Movie 2

- Did you read my message thoroughly, or did you stop at the first sentence?
Again, it was already used in fanmade trailers from last year back in April, which was WAAAAAY before this movie was announced on Mario Day this year, meaning this logo has to be fanmade and mistakenly used by IMAX. There's NO WAY the official logo for a sequel movie would be unveiled nearly a year in advance of the film's proper announcement and when the first movie is still in theaters. So, again: take that logo with a grain of salt. rend (talk) (edits) 11:34, July 28, 2024 (EDT)- If it was used in a semi-official format, though, surely it's worth mentioning?

- seems perfectly encyclopedic to me. 73.171.104.211 12:13, July 28, 2024 (EDT)
- That could work.
I do wish we knew the original source of the fanmade logo though, so we could accurately verify that it's fanmade. But I can't really find a perfectly good source that predates the fanmade trailer I found (which already looks like it has poorly removed the background, meaning it has to predate that fan trailer), and any sources that use this image prior to SDCC are also posted after the fanmade trailer (e.g. the logo on Wikipedia is from June 4 of this year, one on DeviantArt I found was from October 2023, etc). rend (talk) (edits) 14:27, July 28, 2024 (EDT)
