| A '''Sleeping Spear Guy''' is a pink [[Shy Guy (toy)|Shy Guy]] that appears in ''[[Mario vs. Donkey Kong]]''. It is usually sleeping on a platform. Whenever [[Mario]] jumps on the same platform, the Sleeping Spear Guy awakens and quickly runs toward Mario. However, if a [[Mini Mario (toy)|Mini-Mario]] jumps onto the platform, the Sleeping Spear Guy will not be awoken. Whenever a Sleeping Spear Guy reaches the end of the platform they are on, they will sit down and fall back asleep. Sleeping Spear Guys constantly hold spears pointing upward whether they are asleep or awake, in the same manner as a [[Spear Guy]]; therefore, attempting to jump on top of the enemy will cause Mario to lose a [[Extra life|life]].
